Peter Sandberg, a lifelong Alaskan, is an associate in the firm’s litigation group. Peter represents businesses, public institutions and individuals in a wide variety of litigated matters, with a particular emphasis on tort and civil rights claims, class actions, unfair trade practice claims, intellectual property disputes and other general business and employment matters. Peter regularly appears in court on behalf of the firm’s clients and has experience with trials, arbitrations and appeals. Some of Peter’s recent accomplishments include:

  • Drafted successful summary judgment motion establishing that the Anchorage Assembly had violated its own ethics rules in rezoning a parcel of land for a proposed Wal-Mart development.
  • Drafted substantial portions of appellate briefing in a precedent-setting case before the Alaska Supreme Court establishing the legal rule in Alaska for when police officers are entitled to immunity for the use of force with co-counsel.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of employer in a wage and hour dispute.
  • Drafted substantial portions of a successful arbitration brief that established violations of Alaska trade name / trademark laws.
