Charles A. Dunnagan
CHARLES A. DUNNAGAN is a member of the firm. For more than 30 years, his practice has focused on Labor and Employment Law, primarily serving as general counsel to a significant number of labor unions and employee associations. Mr. Dunnagan's clients include the International Association of Firefighters (Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau locals), the Alaska Ironworkers, the United Food & Commercial Workers, the United Transportation Workers and the International Longshore Workers Union.
In his role as general counsel, Mr. Dunnagan handles the full range of labor relations and legal needs for each union, including collective bargaining, employee rights and grievance, and the negotiation and settlement of compensation and benefits issues. He advises the AFL-CIO and individual union political action committees on election law and campaign disclosure. Mr. Dunnagan also represents non-profit organizations in connection with Charitable Gaming.
As a lecturer at the University of Alaska, Mr. Dunnagan taught courses on subjects related to labor relations and employee benefits. He has also served as a Commissioner on the Alaska Public Offices Commission which oversees campaign financial disclosure in state and local elections and lobbying in Alaska.
For over 30 years, Mr. Dunnagan has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America," and has been named as an Alaska Super Lawyer by the publication Washington Law & Politics. In 2010, he won the bluegrass banjo competition at the Anchorage Folk Festival.
