MICHELLE L. BOUTIN is an associate of the firm focusing primarily on business transactions, Commercial Litigation, Creditors' Rights and Bankruptcy Law. Ms. Boutin's experience includes: - Litigating on behalf of a creditor in U.S. District Court for injunctive relief and repossession of a small jet aircraft.
- Representing creditors in most of the major bankruptcy cases filed in Alaska in the past 18 years.
- Successfully resolving numerous commercial credit collection matters, including representing creditors in summary foreclosure actions and judicial foreclosure actions.
- Negotiating and drafting a number of workout agreements.
- Representing a debtor in successfully filing a Chapter 11 plan and disclosure statement.
- Counseling a land owner in connection with a series of complex commercial real estate transactions; including negotiating and drafting a short term lease agreement, a purchase and sale agreement and a long term lease agreement.
- Serving as bankruptcy trustee counsel in fraudulent conveyance adversary actions.
Ms. Boutin speaks regularly on a variety of issues related to bankruptcy law and creditor collection rights. She previously served as an attorney representative to the U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit Judicial Conference. She served as a past President and Board Member of the Anchorage Bar Association, and is currently the Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Alaska Bar Association.
